Is it better to pay out of pocket or use my insurance? When you get in any type of accident and you need repairs done on your vehicle you have to decide whether to pay for those repairs out of pocket or should you file a claim with your Insurance company.
You should always pay out of pocket if you’ve incurred less than your deductible damage. Even if the damage is slightly above the deductible, consider paying out of pocket for several reasons. First its not worth going through the process of filing a claim. Second your insurance rate is most likely going to go up if you do, and the amount you would receive from your insurance after you pay your deductible is not worth the compensation you would get from your insurance company.
